Twenty-five years of marriage suddenly fall apart when Nathalie’s (Isabelle Huppert, Elle) husband reveals that he is leaving her. Tasked with reinventing her life, Nathalie, a philosophy teacher, searches to find meaning in her newfound independence. L’Avenir won the Best Director award at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival.
